Vegetable Starter Kits – Start a New Hobby!!

“Dig for Victory”, this was the phrase used in the war and we folks at the Garadh would love families on Barra to get involved. This might even be the start of a new hobby! We are offering all households a Vegetable Starter Box FREE OF CHARGE to grow your own vegetables. This is ideal for new gardeners who want to try a range of easy plants: lettuce, cabbage, kale, beetroot plus pea and broadbean seeds to sow yourself. All of these can be grown in the ground or in a container such as a fish box or pot.

We are looking to give a prize to the most unusual container used for your vegetables! Please take pictures of your vegetable beds and send to us. We would love to see how they are coming along.

One box per household and each box will contain a variety of what is currently ready to plant.

For all our DELIVERIES please ensure you follow these strict procedures to ensure you stay safe:
CORONAVIRUS Regulations: Plants and compost will be delivered to your door (please keep to the 2 metre social distancing) and you should place the plants & compost in a shed/hut for at leat 24 hours before planting out to keep you safe from any potential transfer of the virus.
